Himmelfreundpointner Consulting
Turning your software development into a reliable driver of growth
Long development cycles and high costs are slowing down your digital plans? I help you remove the structural bottlenecks in your IT – so you can achieve predictable, efficient delivery and free up time for real progress and innovation.
Agility alone doesn’t create efficient processes.
Do these challenges sound familiar?
Many IT teams have adopted agile ways of working, yet the expected results – faster delivery, lower costs, better outcomes – often don’t show up in practice. Instead, the same problems persist.
High coordination overhead
Strong dependencies between teams, unclear responsibilities, and constantly changing requirements make planning and execution difficult.
Context switching reduces productivity
Too many initiatives are started at once. Excessive work in progress forces teams to constantly switch context – slowing delivery and hurting quality.
Weak technical foundations
Slow build and release processes, difficult integrations, and high defect rates become part of everyday work, consuming capacity and undermining cost and delivery commitments.
Engineering effectiveness requires excellence across three dimensions: organization, process, and technology.
When attempts to solve these issues fail, it’s often because they focus on just one area in isolation. Sustainable improvement requires a coordinated adjustment of organization, processes, and technology.
My consulting approach looks at all three dimensions to address efficiency and productivity bottlenecks at their root. The result: engineering effectiveness. Your IT teams have more capacity, deliver faster, and create value sooner – and you gain more time for innovation.

IT foundations for startups: making decisions that support growth
In early startup phases, fundamental technical decisions have to be made quickly. Founders often lack technical depth or emotional distance – and early IT hires rarely have the experience to set the right course.
As an external sparring partner and interim CTO, I support startups in building a future-ready IT organization – making decisions that are pragmatic today and still hold up tomorrow. For fewer course corrections and a clear path to sustainable growth.

How we work together
As a consultant, I focus on results. I work in clear, incremental steps, without long-term commitments. My support is flexible and tailored to your specific needs.
1. Initial conversation
You tell me about your challenges and goals. And together, we determine whether my consulting approach is a good fit. Possible starting points include an initial assessment, bottleneck analysis, or guided implementation. If it feels like a good match, I’ll put together a proposal.
2.Proposal
You receive a clear, detailed proposal outlining scope, approach, timeline, and costs – everything you need to make an informed decision. Once you approve it, we can start the project promptly.
3. Delivery
Smaller engagements are delivered in focused sprints, while larger initiatives follow an iterative approach. Regular check-ins keep you informed on progress, and concise documentation ensures that results remain useful beyond the engagement. Success isn’t subjective – it’s measured against clear, transparent criteria.

FAQs
Who do you work with?
I work with companies across industries throughout the DACH region. Organizations in a growth phase that are starting to feel the limits of their current ways of working tend to benefit the most. For startups, I also offer support as a sparring partner and interim CTO.
Do companies need to meet certain requirements?
What matters most is a genuine willingness to change – this is critical to the success of any engagement. It’s also important that key stakeholders in leadership, management, and the teams are available and willing to actively participate.
Do you work on-site or remotely?
Both. This depends on my clients’ preferences. In most cases, we start with an on-site kickoff, followed by remote collaboration for the remainder of the engagement.
How do you price consulting projects? Do you bill hourly?
The initial analysis phase is billed on an hourly basis. For larger engagements, I typically offer a fixed price so you can plan reliably and aren’t surprised by additional costs during execution. After our introductory conversation, I’ll provide a detailed proposal tailored to your situation.
